Flash banners are no longer recommended for campaigns due to Flash support being removed in major browsers.

For animated content we instead recommend HTML5 Ads.

ClickTAGs for Flash banners

ClickTAG’s ensures that Optimise can dynamically generate a unique, Affiliate tracking URL for each flash creative. Implementing a ClickTAG is crucial to ensure a flash banner will track correctly.

The ClickTAG code must be added to allow the click to be tracked by Optimise and redirected to the merchant site. Example code is shown below.

AS3 example (button object):

var paramList:Object = this.root.loaderInfo.parameters;

buttonClip.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, openURL);

function openURL(evtObj:MouseEvent):void {
var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(paramList["ClickTAG"]);
navigateToURL(request, "_blank");

AS3 example (function in MainTimeline):

public function openURL(event:MouseEvent) : void
var _loc_2:* = new URLRequest(this.paramList["ClickTAG"]);
navigateToURL(_loc_2, "_blank");
}// end function

AS2 and below:

on (release) {
getURL(_root.ClickTAG, "_blank");

For further information on ClickTAG implementations see: http://www.adobe.com/resources/richmedia/tracking/designers_guide/

NOTE: In the above Adobe example, ClickTAG is shown in the incorrect case for Optimise. It must be entered as ClickTAG. This is due to case sensitivity in older versions of Flash Player.
